How to Start on YouTube without a Degree

Now we got it settled, that you do not need a degree to become a YouTuber. There are a lot of people making videos about how to get 100.000 subscribers in less than a year, but the big question is: Where to start?

It is very easy to start your own YouTube-channel, but if you want success, it is hard work. You also need a lot of know-how on how to use the platform!

The easiest way to see if a Youtuber has success is to look at the numbers of subscribers. I rule of thumb says, that it is probably as hard to go from 0 to 10.000 subscribers than it is to go from 10.000 to 100.000 subscribers.

Once you build an audience that loves your content, and the algorithm picks up, that your content is worth sharing, you can get organic traffic to your channel by recommendations. Someone pays to get “recommended”, and that can also be a possibility to get a bigger crowd, but the investment should be worth in the long term before you do that.

Well, first things first.

Step by Step (YouTuber Starting Guide)

  • You don’t need a degree, just a YouTube account.
  • Go to Youtube.com and sign-up (You need an e-mail) I recommend a Gmail.
  • After you accepted all the terms and conditions and signed up, you can become a YouTuber.
  • Click on your account in the right corner.
  • Push on Your channel.
  • Create and upload original video content

That doesn’t sound that hard, and everybody can practically become a YouTuber.

The reason why I recommend a Gmail is, that it gives the easiest access to use all other free tools from Google, but you can usually also use these tools from another e-mail service.

What is a YouTuber?

The thing is, that the word YouTuber is developing, and real Youtubers nowadays is also called either an individual videographer or influencer.

Big companies who have a lot of subscribers are not referred to as YouTubers, but they can still use all the advantages of a great YouTube Channel.
